Photographer Carsten Egevang spends a lot of time in Greenland so we caught up with him in Copenhagen between expeditions. A scientist by training, his first interest in photography was in photographing birds, until he was seduced by the wildlife and landscape in Greenland.
Now he visits regularly, still involved in science as well as photography, and seeing the impacts of climate change on both nature and people at first hand.
Carsten has an interesting take on climate change and its impact on communities. That has led to him use his photography to give a more rounded perspective of our changing planet and influence those in power – the decision makers who can choose to make a difference but often don’t .
