Aesthetics in the Natural World

Marsel van Oosten came to photography from another career, but one which prepared him to see the world differently and to pay attention to aesthetics and details. It’s an approach which has served him well as his photography is distinctive and widely published.

He has won some of the biggest awards for his nature, wildlife and landscape photography including, first, Travel Photographer of the Year and then Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

In this conversation we explore Marsel’s approach to finding and photographing the unusual with with a distinctive style.

Below you’ll see a selection of Marsel’s work. Listen and you’ll find out a lot more about his life and photography.

In this podcast, he talks to &Coe about his life, his photography, his fascination with the nature world and photographing it for impact.
